Hello

Every Dog - and Cat -  Deserves Care They Can Rely On

For many dogs, walks can become stressful, overwhelming, or reactive — not because they are “bad dogs,” but because they lack the structure, guidance, and stimulation they truly need.

At The Leash Life, walks are structured, calm, and purposeful — helping dogs feel more balanced, focused, and fulfilled. I also offer cat drop-in visits, providing companionship, enrichment, and care tailored to each cat’s personality. Every pet deserves attention, structure, and love, and I make sure they get it.

If you’ve ever felt stressed walking your dog, unsure how to help them, or worried about giving your cat the care they deserve — you’re not alone.

And for me, this work is deeply personal.

My Story

Dogs

My journey with dogs started with learning the hard way.

When I got my first dog at 20, I didn’t understand behaviour, training, or how important structured walks really are. Over time, she became reactive, and something that should have been enjoyable became stressful.

So I chose to learn. I dove into dog behaviour, training, and the role structure plays in a dog’s mental state — and everything changed. I realized most behaviour issues aren’t about “bad dogs.” They’re about dogs that need the right guidance, routine, and leadership.

That experience led me to over 10 years of working with dogs. Today, I focus on structured, one-on-one walks designed to give dogs more than just exercise — they provide calm, clarity, and consistency. I created The Leash Life for dogs who need more than just a walk — they need structure, guidance, and the chance to truly thrive.

Cats

My love for cats began in my second year of college when I got my first cat, Bentley, and I instantly fell in love. Over the years, I welcomed a series of special cats into my life:

• Charlotte, rescued from a dumpster as a tiny 3-week-old kitten whose whole litter had been taped in a shoebox.

• Louis, now 17.5 years old, still by my side.

• Mocha, Jag, and Zeebie, each with their own personalities and stories.

Mocha once got outside, and I thought I had lost her — only to have her return pregnant at a young age. I helped care for her kittens, including Buggie, Oliver, Merv, Finn, and Quinn, with bottle feedings when she wasn’t always able. Finnigan, born deaf, is now 16 years old and incredibly chatty, especially at night!

I created The Leash Life for dogs and cats who need more than just a walk or visit — they need attention structure, guidance, and the chance to truly thrive.
